Last day of class!

It's the last day of class!!!!  I hope everyone's enjoyed the semester as much as I have, this has been a great experience!  As we finish up our projects today I'm sure some if not all of you will need to make appointments with me to come into the lab and finish up your projects.  I've set aside hours to be here for you this week, they are as follows:

Tuesday 12/11 : 10am - 6pm

Wednesday 12/12:  10am - 6pm

Thursday 12/13:  10am - 6pm

Saturday 11am - 3pm

Please make an appointment with me as soon as possible.

Assignments due at the end of the Semester - 12/10/2012

Worksheets 1-3 
- turn in via Dropbox

Image Trace variations 
- turn all 10 in via Dropbox

Layered Trace laser-cut composition 
- should be completed with at least 3 colored layers 

33 Deformations 
- use the Deformation tools in Maya - Using "screen capture"(Mac) or "PrintScreen"(PC), capture images of your shape deformations, label them clearly in a folder and upload to Dropbox.

Nut & Bolt rendering
- Render a threaded nut and bolt using Maya as per in class demo.  Upload rendering via Dropbox.

123D Catch
--create a self-portrait using 123D Catch to send to the Makerbot 3D printer


Lasered Sketchbook 
- use at least 20 layers to create a 3D etching into a 6 x 6" spiral-bound sketchbook.


Maker Culture Response Paper
Referencing our in-class discussions about designers and the Design for Life and Marc Newson videos posted further down on the blog, articulate the role designers play in influencing the growing Maker Culture and how we will make and use things in the future.

2 pages, double-spaced.  Make sure to cite your sources.


Remember to schedule time outside of class to meet with me to run files on the laser cutter and Makerbot.  All assignments due December 10, 2012.
